Would not repeat
Poorly organised on the day. The staff seemed unsure of the schedule themselves. Travelling with two children, which is the real test.

About this experience
Collect the car at the city-centre depot — no shuttle, no queue at a remote lot — and drop it back at the same desk. The rate includes unlimited mileage, third-party liability, a collision damage waiver with a stated excess, and a second driver at no extra cost. Hire runs from 3 to 10 days, and the intermediate car class takes 5 people and 3 suitcases, which is the right size for Muscat and the roads out of it.

Better than expected
Our guide was excellent — patient with the children and full of stories we would never have found ourselves. Travelled on my own and had no trouble at all.

A real highlight
Beautiful setting and very well run. The timing gave us plenty of room to explore at our own pace. Booked it around a work trip and it worked out well.

Decent experience
Solid experience. Nothing went wrong, though nothing stood out either. Travelling with two children, which is the real test.
